Harry Kane is reportedly willing to give up a large part of his Tottenham salary in order to force through a summer move to Bayern Munich. The 30-year-old has been targeted by the German champions over the last few weeks, with at least two offers having already been turned down by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
Bayern chiefs flew into London on Monday in order to hold in-person discussions with Tottenham, according to Sky Sports. The two clubs were due to meet last week before the session was rescheduled, although dialogue has remained open about Kane’s future over the last few days.
The latest offer submitted by Bayern was said to have been in the region of £82million including add-ons, which was swiftly turned down by Spurs. However, Bild are reporting that Kane may take matters into his own hands with the aim of speeding up the process of pushing a deal through.
It is said that he may decide to ‘buy himself free’ from his Tottenham contract by giving up a large part of his remaining salary, which is thought to be in the region of £20.6m per season. This would help to bridge the difference between the two clubs but would also see Kane take a significant financial hit for the upcoming campaign.
