EVERTON NOW WANT TO SIGN £85,000-A-WEEK INTERNATIONAL STRIKER

Sean Dyche’s Everton have been linked with West Ham United striker Michail Antonio.

According to The Guardian, Everton are interested in signing Michail Antonio from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq are also interested in Antonio.

Antonio has been on the books of West Ham since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers paid Forest £7 million in transfer fees for Antonio (Sky Sports) at the time.

Antonio was playing as a winger when West Ham signed him, but under manager David Moyes at the Hammers, the Jamaica international has been deployed as a striker.

Everton should not sign Michail Antonio from West Ham United

In our opinion, Everton should not sign Michail Antonio from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

We do not think that Antonio would be able to make a huge difference at Everton.

The Jamaica international is 33 now.

And, he is not a ‘natural’ striker.

Antonio has made 228 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The £85,000-a-week (Spotrac) striker has scored 61 goals and given 30 assists in those matches.

Antonio did not have a particularly great campaign on a personal level in the Premier League last season.

The 33-year-old made 21 starts and 12 substitute appearances in the league for the Hammers last season.

The Jamaica international scored five goals and gave three assists in those games.

Antonio, though, did play well in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The striker scored six goals and helped West Ham win the competition.

However, if Everton want a new striker, then they should find someone who is better than Dominic Calvert-Lewin and who can be on top of his game for a long time.
