West Brom have joined Leeds United and other Championship clubs in the race to sign FC Midtjylland striker Sory Kaba – and Spanish outlet La Provincia claim the Danish side want a bargain fee of just £1.7m for the Gambia star.
Kaba, 28, spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City, from Midtjylland and instantly impressed. His eight goals in 17 games helped keep the Welsh side in the Championship. He has now returned to FC Midtjylland.
Indeed, Kaba has already made his mark this season – scoring in a Europa Conference League qualifier, during a 2-0 win over Progres Niederkorn. He will be in action this evening again, in the second leg. But clubs are coming in.
UD Las Palmas.Net said Leeds, Watford, Cardiff and three other Championship clubs are keen – as are La Liga side Las Palmas. The Express & Star say Carlos Corberan’s West Brom also want him. Now, his price tag is now public.

What a bargain. A striker that has shown he is capable of scoring a goal every other game in the Championship for a team that were right in the thick of a relegation scrap. A side that Leeds will take on this weekend, at Elland Road.
Leeds need a striker. That has been made more apparent with Patrick Bamford injured, and Georginio Rutter picking up a knock. It leaves us with Joe Gelhardt – who is better, deeper – and the unproven Mateo Joseph. More needed.
Kaba gives Leeds some much-needed Championship experience, a bit of an older striker that improves the squad immediately – rather than waiting a number of years. Kaba, described as “great” by Clinton Morrison, is a bargain.
