A look at the latest Leeds United transfer rumours from across the globe
A look at the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Saturday, August 5.
Everton ‘nearing’ Wilfried Gnonto deal
TuttoMercatoWeb claims Everton are close to agreeing a fee for Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto. The Toffees have been repeatedly linked with a move for the young Italian forward this summer, but the report claims they’re just £2million apart in their valuations.
The report claims the Blues are confident they can get a deal done this summer, despite the Whites’ remaining hopeful of keeping Gnonto at the club. The report claims the youngster could well play a number of Championship games before departing as talks rumble on.
Gnonto impressed in the Premier League for the Whites after arriving from FC Zurich last summer. It was a transfer that had been fast tracked given the young age of the Italian international.
However, a deal for Gnonto is likely to depend on the departure of Demari Gray, who has been linked with a move to Fulham.
Rutter ‘unhappy in England’ as loan talk re-emerges
Frenchman Georginio Rutter looks set to have a starring role for Leeds United this season, but reports in Germany claim the striker is unhappy in England. Frankfurter Rundschau repeats claims from earlier this week, that Hoffenheim are looking to make a loan move for the striker, despite leaving the club to join Leeds in January.
The Whites paid €28million for his services last season, but he’s struggled to adapt and find the back of the net since making the move from Germany. Reports emerged this week claiming Hoffenheim were ready to offer Rutter a lifeline back to Germany, but he’s recently picked up a knock.
Rutter has featured heavily for Daniel Farke in pre-season and they’re already light of options up front.
