West Ham United are said to be battling Everton for the signing of Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah this summer.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea ace Trevoh Chalobah is on the radars of both West Ham and Everton in the summer transfer window.
Hammers boss David Moyes needs to bring a top-class central defender with Premier League experience to the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut.
And it seems as though Chalobah could be the man for the job…
Pochettino makes decision on Trevoh Chalobah as West Ham swoop in for £45 million defender
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to let the 24-year-old leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Hammers and Everton chasing his signature.
I actually think he’d be a great addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.
Described as an ‘incredible’ defender by Football.London, Chalobah is quick along the ground, strong in the air and vitally for David Moyes, he has experience of playing Premier League football!.
Signing him this summer seems like a no-brainer to me.
However, there is a very big problem indeed. Chelsea could demand as much as £45 million for Chalobah this summer (Evening Standard).
That’s just too much money to be paying for the 24-year-old as far as I’m concerned, and can’t see either the Hammers or the Toffees meeting Chelsea’s demands.
Perhaps if West Ham could sign Trevoh Chalobah for closer to £30 million, then it will be a deal worth doing.
