Chris Sutton has taken to social media and reacted to the news that Bayern Munich have agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Harry Kane.
Tottenham have seemingly agreed to sell their all-time top goalscorer to Bayern Munich this summer after weeks of negotiations.
Kane was reportedly leaning towards seeing out his contract in North London after Bayern had a £86 million bid rejected on Monday.
But The Athletic’s David Ornstein broke the news today that Bayern have finally agreed a deal with Spurs to sign the England captain.
The offer is said to be worth more than Bayern’s previous bid and now Kane will make the ultimate decision on his future.
And Chris Sutton believes if Kane decides to leave Tottenham, he will have ‘stuffed’ his new boss Ange Postecoglou.
Sutton reacts to Kane news
Sutton took to social media platform X and reacted to the news that Bayern have agreed a deal to sign Kane.
He wrote: “If Harry Kane leaves Tottenham now he will have stuffed Ange Postecoglou. It’s ridiculous him leaving 3 days before Tottenham’s first game…”
It’s certainly come as a surprise to see Spurs agree to a deal to sell Kane just three days before they kick off their Premier League season.
But Postecoglou doesn’t seem like the type of manager who will be fazed by losing his star man.
The Aussie boss has made it evidently clear that he’s ready to transform Spurs with or without Kane at the club.
Of course, if Kane does complete a switch to Munich, Tottenham will face the task of replacing their star man.
The likes of Gift Orban, Brennan Johnson and Jonathan David have all been linked with Spurs in the event of Kane’s departure.
It’s unlikely that Spurs will be able to find a player of similar quality to Kane should he leave, but Postecoglou will certainly be up for the challenge ahead of him in North London.
