Chaotic Chelsea to fail again as Newcastle reclaim Champions League spot

Newcastle United’s chances of resecuring Champions League football during the 2023-24 campaign will be boosted by Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool and Chelsea continuing on a path of chaos.

That’s the view of The Everything is Black and White Podcast host Andrew Musgrove as he delivered his season predictions for the new Premier League season.

Speaking on The Season Preview episode – which can be found here on YouTube or your podcast provider – Musgrove shared his thoughts that Newcastle have a ‘genuine’ chance of finishing third, aided by what he feels will be chaotic campaigns for other teams around The Magpies.

Within his predictions, he revealed his thoughts that Klopp could lose his job. “Liverpool, it’s an interesting one,” he said. “Bold prediction? Klopp will not be Liverpool manager next season.

“I think the rot has set in and I don’t think he’ll actually see out the season. He may do as a kind of farewell like Cloughy did at Forest.

“I’m not saying Liverpool are getting relegated, of course, but I can see the season ending badly for him. I don’t know if they’ve bought all that well.

“Mac Allister from Brighton is a great player but they are on a rebuilding job, and yes they haven’t got Champions League, so that will aid them but it’s a big task to rebuild, a bit like Chelsea. For me, I think they’ll be fifth.”

Musgrove was sitting alongside Newcastle United Editor Aaron Stokes and special guest Pete Davey from Toon YouTube channel Loaded Mag NUFC, and the trio all agreed that Manchester City would reclaim the Premier League title. Davey feels Eddie Howe’s side will finish four while Stokes and Musgrove agreed on third.
