BBC commentator absolutely loses it as Lionesses book place in Women’s World Cup final

As Alessia Russo sealed England’s place in the World Cup Final, BBC commentator Brown Finnis could not contain her excitement for the Lionesses

BBC co-commentator and former Liverpool goalkeeper Rachel Brown Finnis completely lost her cool when England sealed their place in the World Cup Final.

Everybody was on tenterhooks after Australia began to force their way back into the game. Chelsea forward Sam Kerr missed a glorious opportunity to level the match for the second time when the ball bobbed into her vicinity, but her 12-yard volley was off target.

In the next phase of play, Alessia Russo ran onto a perfect threaded pass from Lauren Hemp and lashed a ruthless finish into the bottom left-hand corner.

As the ball nestled into the back of the net, co-commentator Rachel Brown Finnis completely lost her cool.

As soon as the Arsenal forward doubled the Lionesses’ lead, Finnis could be heard whooping and screaming in joy. The former goalkeeper normally provides cutting-edge insight and analysis during the game alongside BBC commentator Robyn Cowan.

However, the inner-fan and former player within her seemed to burst out as she became consumed by joy. As is always the danger when you are hovering over a microphone on live television, viewers at home heard all of her cheers.
