Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs has now given his verdict on new signing Jack Harrison.
The ‘quality’ Harrison joined the Blues on a season-long loan deal from Championship side Leeds United, and Alan Stubbs insists that the 26-year-old is a ‘really good addition’ to the squad.
Speaking on the A View From The Bullens Podcast, Stubbs spoke about Everton’s new recruit and what he can bring to the team, stating in a clip shared via the A View From The Bullens Twitter account: “Probably when I look at where Everton’s signings are, I think he’s probably one that I look at and go, ‘yeah, he’s a really good player’.
It makes sense in terms of the signing. It gives us more options on the wing. When I look at his overall profile, I think he’s what I would say is an Everton player. He’s got a really good work rate; he’s got good energy.
I think he’s got good quality as well. I think once he’s fit, and hopefully that’s not too long, I think he’s a really good addition to the squad.”

Indeed, Harrison could certainly bring some much-needed ‘quality’ in front of goal to Sean Dyche’s side, with the 26-year-old contributing five goals and seven assists at Elland Road last season.While the midfielder is currently out injured with a hip injury, he looks to be a shrewd signing for the Toffees and Evertonians will be hoping for an instant impact once he is fit.
Indeed, Jack Harrison could also alleviate some of the pressure on the shoulders of Dwight McNeil and Alex Iwobi, who were the club’s primary creative outlets last season.
With McNeil also unavailable through injury at the minute, it will no doubt be frustrating for Sean Dyche to have such influential individuals out at the same time, though when they are both fit, they will make a huge difference to Everton’s starting XI.
