Corberan makes calls for £8.5m duo as experiment persists: West Brom predicted XI v Leeds United – gallery

West Bromwich Albion head out on the Sky Bet Championship road again on Friday evening as they take on Leeds United at Elland Road.

Carlos Corberan’s side recovered well from their opening-day defeat to Blackburn Rovers with a 3-2 win over Swansea City last time out.

Albeit nervy towards the end with two late Swans goals, Albion claimed their first three points of the 2023/24 campaign in style.

A different kettle of fish awaits now, however, as Leeds are of course one of the best teams in the entire division on paper.

With just one point out of six earned so far, the Whites haven’t started the season particularly well, but they’re definitely still a threat.

With that in mind, we believe Corberan will field a very strong XI in Yorkshire. Flick through the pages to see the 11 players we think will start.

1. GK – Alex Palmer

Has regained the number one spot between the sticks and it would come as a shock now if Josh Griffiths were to take Palmer’s spot away.

2. CB – Semi Ajayi

Scored and was man of the match as Albion beat Swansea. Seems to prefer being in a three rather than a four, and we reckon Corberan will stick to that experiment.

3. CB – Cedric Kipre

Still yet to fill supporters with utmost confidence but is looking likely to play again after a strong showing at The Hawthorns.

4. CB – Erik Pieters

With little stability at the back in recent away matches, it could be crucial having the experience of Pieters in there.
