Gabby Agbonlahor shares PL relegation prediction for Everton & Wolves

Gabriel Agbonlahor has made an Everton relegation prediction ahead of their game against Aston Villa on Sunday (20 August).

Speaking on the talkSPORT Breakfast Show on 16 August, the pundit said the Toffees will be fighting near the bottom of the Premier League table this season.

The former England international believes that Sheffield United and Luton Town are in “big trouble” and will be relegated despite only just being promoted to the top flight.

“Sheffield United and Luton, I think they’re in big trouble,” said Agbonlahor. “I think Luton will struggle defensively, I think Sheffield United haven’t invested enough in their whole squad, so I think they’re going to have some tough games this season and will both get relegated.

“The third one is up for grabs. I think Everton will be down there – I do feel Wolves will still be down there.”

It won’t come as too much of a surprise to hear yet another pundit has written Everton off this season as he joins a long line of people that fancy them to be involved in a relegation battle.

Agbonlahor didn’t quite go as far as to say he thinks the Blues will be relegated down to the Championship, but the only other club he thinks could be in trouble is Wolves, who performed well against Manchester United on Monday (14 August).

He predicted that both newly promoted Sheffield United and Luton will face an immediate drop back down to the second tier and it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise given the lack of quality in both of their squads.

But the Toffees actually didn’t play badly against Fulham in their opening-day defeat, with the side missing several chances, so Sean Dyche will be hoping they can sharpen up in front of goal as the season goes on.

They head to Villa Park to face Agbonlahor’s former team this weekend, where they could face a tricky challenge against a Villans side that has invested heavily this summer and will be looking to respond following their heavy defeat to Newcastle United last time out.
