Phil Hay has reported on The Athletic’s website that four English clubs are keeping an eye on Leeds United defender Cody Drameh and his situation at Elland Road – including West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Drameh, 21, is struggling to get into the Leeds side at the moment. The England U21 man has returned after another wonderful loan spell away from us – but finds Luke Ayling in his way. He starred at Luton.
Helping them gain promotion in his half-season spell. In a similar loan the season before, he won the Player of the Season award at Cardiff – despite only joining January. But now, he is back on our bench.
With his deal ending next summer, his future is up in the air. Hay says it is ‘make or break’ for Drameh this year. Suffering injury in pre-season has not helped, allowing Ayling to start the season and impress.
As we enter the final week of the window, Drameh is the subject of interest from numerous clubs. West Ham being one of those, as they look to bring in cover for Vladimir Coufal. Europa League football, too.
Four English clubs keeping eye on Leeds defender Drameh
Drameh is from London and a move to the Hammers may tempt him, even as cover for Coufal – though the Czech star is out of contract next summer. Palace and Brentford are also interested in the defender.
Again, moves to London for Drameh – who was born in the capital. Drameh will know that he is unlikely to start for these clubs. But he might as well sit on the bench in the Premier League, if he is at Leeds.
Southampton, one of our promotion rivals, are also keen with Russell Martin a long-term admirer – having tried to get him at Swansea in January. Daniel Farke has a decision to make with Drameh.
