Gareth Ainsworth says Lyndon Dykes and Chris Willock are on course to return to the QPR squad for the trip to Middlesbrough this weekend.
Willock’s fitness continues to be an issue, while striker Dykes has not featured since limping off with a knee injury during the recent Carabao Cup defeat by Norwich.
Boss Ainsworth hoped Dykes might return for Saturday’s game at Southampton, where Rangers were beaten 2-1.
Willock was not involved at St Mary’s after failing a fitness test.
Ainsworth said: “Lyndon will hopefully be involved this week. He was close (to playing at Southampton).
“Chris Willock came off at half-time last week because there was a risk of a recurring injury, and he didn’t pass a fitness test for this week, so he’ll be back next week.
“He was really close. Him and Lyndon were both very close to making the trip to Southampton.”
Jimmy Dunne remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, Ainsworth has predicted that Rangers will go on a “winning streak” after being unlucky in recent losses to Southampton and Ipswich
