Leicester City have an interest in the City defender ahead of Friday’s deadline.

The latest Leicester City news as the Whites have been linked with an interest in the City defender ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Luke Thomas with James Maddison before Leicester City's game against Brighton at the King Power Stadium

Former Leicester City midfielder James Maddison could have had an impact on Leeds United’s decision to target Luke Thomas in the final days of the transfer window.

Leeds are said to be interested in the City academy graduate, as they search for defensive reinforcements. Thomas is yet to play a minute for City under Enzo Maresca with a loan move a possibility.

It is said that Leeds have made approaches to City over a possible deal, but the club are unsure over sending the full-back out on loan to a Championship rival. Leeds have drawn two, lost one and won one of their first four league games so far this season.
Like City, Leeds have a new manager in charge this season. Daniel Farke took over at Elland Road this summer, and it’s his relationship with Maddison, who he worked with during both men’s time at Norwich City, that may have got the ball rolling on a potential transfer for Thomas.
According to TalkSPORT , the now Spurs midfielder ‘recommended’ Thomas to Farke. Having worked under the German at Norwich, Maddison could also potentially convince Thomas to make the move by giving him information about how the manager works and what it is like to work under him.
