Following news of Jack Grealish’s injury, an Aston Villa player is warned he is “falling short.”
Prior to Sunday’s match against Tottenham, Lee Hendrie has urged Trezeguet and Anwar El Ghazi to step up for Aston Villa in the absence of injured captain Jack Grealish.
Lee Hendrie thinks that rezeguet Tand Anwar El Ghazi need to stand up more for Aston Villa without Jack Grealish.
Grealish is expected to miss Sunday’s game against Tottenham at home. This will be his sixth straight game missed since suffering a shin injury last month.
In the talismanic captain’s absence, Villa has struggled, winning only once and scoring just four goals.
In the last two games, Dean Smith has started Trezeguet on the left of Villa’s front three, and while the Egyptian has put in his customary amount of effort, Hendrie feels he must do more to have a bigger impact in the final third.
According to the former Villa midfielder, “There has to be a balance.” “You need a strong work ethic, but you also need inventiveness, and I think that’s where Trezeguet just falls short.
“It’s fantastic when you’re away from home because you have to put a lot of effort and bodies on the ball. He excels at the negative aspects of the game, but I’d like to see him try a little more on the positive ones.
El Ghazi scored the game-winning goal when Villa last defeated Leeds United at the end of February to earn three points, but he sustained a toe injury in the loss at Sheffield United and was unable to play in the derby against Wolves.

The 25-year-old is expected to start against Spurs after replacing Bertrand Traore, who was injured, last week at St. James’ Park.
He is frequently quite unreliable, according to Hendrie. When he enters the game, he immediately appears to be a threat, a goal threat, and hungry for goals.
“But I believe that with the way Villa play, you sometimes need a little bit of balance. He needs to be on the lookout for any potential openings to let [Ollie] Watkins through; he doesn’t always have to go inside and take the shots.
