After his “terrible performance last night,” Spurs will be relieved that they opted not to sign a player making £150,000 per week.

After Clement Lenglet’s performance last night, Tottenham Hotspur will undoubtedly be thrilled that they decided against re-signing him.

The defender spent last season with Tottenham on loan, and numerous rumours this summer suggested that they were considering bringing him back to North London.

The center-back ultimately joined fellow Premier League team Aston Villa. He participated in their last-night defeat in the Europa League Conference.

The French defender put up a poor performance, and Tottenham will undoubtedly be happy that they decided against signing him this summer.

Spurs will be relieved they didn’t re-sign Lenglet.
Lenglet participated in last night’s 3-2 setback for his current team, Aston Villa, and he undoubtedly felt unhappy with his performance.

The player making £150,000 per week received a 6.4 rating out of 10, making him one of his squad’s worst performers on the pitch.

He was only able to complete one tackle and lose one aerial battle. He misplaced things six times during the course of the evening. He received negative press from the media, which referred to his performance as “awful.”

It will undoubtedly take a lot to force his way into the first team in the future after this debut effort for his new club.

This summer, Tottenham recruited defender Micky van de Ven, who is already well-liked by the supporters.

Lenglet would not have provided them with anything greater than what they presently have, therefore they unquestionably made the right decision.
