According to reports, Everton has joined Manchester United and other teams in keeping tabs on Blackburn Rovers player Adam Wharton’s development.
The 19-year-old, who rose through the club’s youth systems, made his senior debut in an EFL Cup match against Hartlepool in August 2022. Throughout 2022–2023, the gifted youth made 22 appearances, 18 of which were in the Championship. The star from Blackburn made 12 starts and contributed with a few goals and an assist.
Rovers finished eighth, just missing the play-offs, as Sunderland won the final slot owing to a better goal differential.
The current campaign has gotten off to a decent, albeit unspectacular, start.
The north-west team is down in 14th place after eight games, but they are only three points away from the play-off positions thanks to three victories and a draw.
Wharton played in the EFL Cup victory over Walsall in August and has started seven of those games and appeared in every one of them.
It appears that the major clubs have taken notice. Additionally, TEAMtalk earlier this week said that United was interested in the teen after being impressed by what they have seen this season.
Newcastle United, Brighton, and Wolves are a few other teams said to be interested.
According to reports, the trio made some hesitant inquiries over the summer.
Additionally, the London powerhouses Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham were mentioned earlier this year.
With the Toffees now joining the party, it would seem that the England Under-19 star is in high demand.
Journalist Alan Nixon claims that Sean Dyche has just assigned scout Steve Davis to keep an eye on the young con artist.

Everton’s season has gotten off to a challenging start. After a tie and four losses, they finally won in the Premier League on Saturday, 3-1 against Brentford.
The Merseysiders’ improved performance in west London placed them in 15th place going into Sunday’s games.
The task at hand is to go forward and make an effort to ascend out of the danger area.

For the Everton supporters, the summer transfer window was frustrating. While Arnaut Danjuma was brought in on loan, Beto and Youssef Chermiti were purchased.
The club’s off-field issues persist, and it is debatable if Wharton would want to move to Goodison Park.
Given that Rovers are in play-off contention, manager Jon Dahl Tomasson is unlikely to want to let him go in January.
However, in the world of sports, money talks, so a sizable offer might be too good to refuse.
Although a sum of £10 million has been suggested, there is a good likelihood that Rovers will demand more, particularly if he keeps performing well.
Also highlighted in relation to the midfield talent is Crystal Palace. However, they, like Everton,
