The 20-year-old is being evaluated by a specialist and will undergo surgery “in the coming days.”
Chang made his Championship debut last season, appearing 13 times in the league and four times in the cup.
His single appearance this season came on August 8th, when Blues defeated Cheltenham Town 2-0 in the Carabao Cup.
This season, though, he has been an unused substitute in all three of Birmingham’s Championship lineups.
Tomorrow, Birmingham City will play Plymouth Argyle in the Championship.
Birmingham City will host Plymouth Argyle at St Andrew’s tomorrow in a contest between two teams that have started the season brightly.
Blues remain unbeaten in their first three games, having collected seven points, most recently defeating Bristol City 2-0 at Ashton Gate.
Plymouth, meanwhile, has four points so far, falling narrowly to Southampton in their most recent match, their first defeat of the season.
