INJURY UPDATE :Exeter City key man have been ruied out f0r two mouth due to an injury

Harry Kite and Alex Fisher have joined Exeter City’s expanding injury list.
Kite was injured against Fylde, and Fisher has a hamstring injury that will keep him out for several weeks.

Exeter City’s injury woes continue to pile, with Alex Fisher and Harry Kite joining a growing list of those set to miss time.

The Grecians are already without long-term absentees Lewis Ward, Jonny Maxted, Lewis Page, and Nigel Atangana, while Tom Parkes and Archie Collins were rested from Saturday’s 2-1 win over Fylde due to fitness concerns.

Kite was taken off hurt in the second half of the FA Cup first round win over Carlisle, while Fisher missed out after injuring his hamstring in the warm-up running the players conducted after last Saturday’s 1-0 win over Carlisle.

Taylor expressed hope that Kite’s absence would be brief, but Fisher would be absent for the next few weeks.

Taylor said after Saturday’s victory, “Harry Kite’s a tough kid, and if he can’t carry on, it’s probably more serious than it looks.” Young players have fringe and dead legs, and his inability to continue is concerning, but we don’t expect him to be absent for long.”

“We don’t think it’s that bad,” he said of Fisher’s absence, adding, “but it has happened a couple of times now.” He had a similar one earlier this season when he missed a game and strained his hamstring doing extra running after the Carlisle game last week.

“It’s not as bad as Lewis Page’s hamstring injury, but it’s a tear of some kind, and the fact that it’s happened a couple of times is concerning.” We’ll evaluate it, but I don’t expect him to be out for months, if not weeks.”

The injury to Fisher opened up a space on the bench for Nicky Ajose, who was in the squad for the first time outside of an EFL Trophy fixture this season, but Taylor noted that the pattern of the game didn’t lend itself to bringing him off the bench.

“We started with two strikers (in Ryan Bowman and Ben Seymour) and with Fisher’s injury, he is getting the chance on the bench,” Taylor stated. “It wasn’t really a game for Nicky because the ball wasn’t on the floor enough and we weren’t in control, otherwise he would have shown up sooner.”

“We had to ‘dog it out’ at the end and no disrespect to Nicky, he won’t compete as much as some of the players on the pitch, and I needed to see what Ben Seymour could do in the 95 minute of a game if I want to think seriously about picking him, he has to see a game through.”
