Tranmere’s two-fer
Tranmere may see Belehouan and Starbuck as two players who will provide competition and depth to their roster. They are both in their early twenties and have the capacity to grow and develop in the future.
Adkins is a seasoned manager who will look to steer the Whites up the League Two table. He has previously had managerial positions at Scunthorpe United, Southampton, Reading, Hull City, and Charlton Athletic, in addition to Sheffield United.
According to journalist Edmund Brack, Belehouan had a trial at AFC Wimbledon in the summer, but the Dons decided not to sign him. The French defender spent seven years on Manchester United’s books before crossing the Pennines to join the club.
During his six years at Bramall Lane, he did not make a senior appearance. He did, however, get valuable experience on loan at Farsley Celtic and FC Halifax Town.
Starbuck, meanwhile, signed for Sheffield United in 2021 from Grimsby Town but did not make the team. Before being released, the midfielder was loaned to Kidderminster Harriers and Boston United.
