Rangers contract offer for 37-goal striker have solve Beale’s goals problem

Kemar Roofe has made a welcome comeback to fitness this season and appears to have overcome the injuries that caused him to become a forgotten man at Rangers.

The 30-year-old Jamaica international has only scored one goal in seven outings, but he has demonstrated that a run of goal scoring form is not far behind.

Michael Beale must now decide what Kemar Roofe must do to earn a new Rangers contract.

Last season, and even going into this season, such a query seemed unfathomable.

The apparent limitation is that he needs to be accessible more frequently than he is, but there is one concerning factor that may cause his previous injury history to be missed.

Is Kemar Roofe deserving of a new contract with the Rangers?
Rangers’ top striker is still Kemar Roofe.

Roofe has only been denied more goals by luck and bad officiating, and it took a fantastic save from Claudio Bravo to keep him out against Real Betis.

He understands the positions to be in and can perform the necessary technique.

Can Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers be claimed to be the same?

Although it is still early in their Rangers careers, four goals in 24 appearances is not a good sign for a pair who cost an estimated £3.5m and £4m.

Roofe has 37 goals in 84 games, with the majority of those coming off the bench.

Beale can’t afford to lose a player who guarantees quality and goals, even if there are still doubts about some of the summer purchases.

Danilo may yet prove to be the answer to all of our prayers, but there are evident concerns in attack while Scott Wright is still getting his feet wet.

Until one or more of the new guys prove themselves capable, the first name at the top of the list will remain.
