Against West Ham, the City right-back appeared to break his ankle horribly.
Claude Puel believes it is too early to predict whether Daniel Amartey will play again this season after suffering a horrible injury against West Ham.
During the 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium, the Leicester City right-back seemed to break his ankle while attempting to stop Michail Antonio from breaking away in stoppage time.
Amartey was given oxygen and stretchered away with his boot in a supporting cast as messages of encouragement poured in.
After complimenting the player for his performance and commitment in attempting to stop a rampaging Antonio, manager Puel also extended his support.
“My first thoughts are about Daniel,” he stated.
“I’m hoping it’s not a serious injury.” He needs to be evaluated, and then we’ll see what happens.
“Of course, he’s been to the hospital.” He played a terrific game and won all of the battles, but in the end he sacrificed to give the opponents a chance.
“It’s his game. He’s improved a lot this season, and I’m hoping he’ll be back soon. It’s too soon to say anything else.”
This season, Amartey has established himself as City’s right back, and he delivered a confident performance against the Hammers.

The Reds midfielder praised the 20-year-old, as well as Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo, for their efforts against Leicester.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, made wholesale changes for Wednesday night’s third-round match at Anfield.
Quansah made his second senior start of the season, after making the XI against Wolves, and his fourth senior appearance in 2023-24.
He started at the back with Ibrahima Konate and put in a good effort.
Quansah even added an assist in the second half to round out an outstanding performance.
‘We need everyone on the team.’
Szoboszlai addressed the Liverpool media team about the new signings: “They played a really good game.”
“Okay, the first-half result was not what we wanted, but that’s life.
“The most important thing is how we came out for the second half.”
“We scored quickly, Cody, and as you mentioned, Ryan, Endo, and Quansah played very well.”
“That shows that we need everybody in the squad.”
Meanwhile, Klopp stated, “Jarell Quansah, not only playing outstandingly well, but also setting up a goal.”
“He’s so exciting that you can’t look at him without smiling.” It’s absolutely wonderful to watch.”
In our opinion
Klopp has never shied away from starting Liverpool youth graduates in senior matches.
This has paid off in recent years, with players such as Curtis Jones, Nat Phillips, and Rhys Williams earning a reputation for themselves.
Some have gone on to become established Liverpool players, while others have used the experience and exposure to shine elsewhere.
Quansah appears to have what it takes to become a regular in the Reds squad now and in the future. He has a bright future ahead of him.
