Clubs will soon be sniffing over Arsenal summer target Pedro Neto, according to Paul Merson, who feels the Wolves player is destined for greatness.
Merson spoke to Sportskeeda only days after scoring a fantastic goal to help Wolves draw with Luton last Saturday.
Pedro Neto has had a significant impact for Wolves this season. In the Premier League, the 23-year-old has one goal and four assists. He shares the league lead in assists with Mo Salah and James Maddison. Matt Doherty recently told the Express and Star that Neto’s future is limitless.
Mikel Arteta’s physique may not surprise him. The Telegraph stated that Arsenal made a summer bid for Pedro Neto.
Clubs will be lining up for Pedro Neto, according to Paul Merson.
Fortunately for Gary O’Neil’s side, the winger was not among those who left Molineux in the most recent transfer window. However, Paul Merson believes that it is just a matter of time until he attracts serious notice from elsewhere.
“Pedro Neto is starting the produce the end product that once eluded him – some of the biggest teams in world football are going to be queuing up for him next year,” he stated to Sportskeeda.
“If he keeps playing like this, he might even get a few offers to leave Wolves in January – he’s destined for big things.”
Arsenal could be one to keep an eye on in January.
Arsenal appears to be looking for more forward reinforcements in January. According to Football Transfers, Edu had contact with Ollie Watkins’ representation about a possible move for the Aston Villa player.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal are interested in Ivan Toney whenever he returns from his current suspension.
Neto is obviously a different player than the other two. His arrival would most likely not fill Arsenal’s requirement for a new centre forward. He can, however, play a variety of attacking roles. And Mikel Arteta has demonstrated on several occasions that he will frequently see a player fitting in a position that few would have predicted.
However, as Merson argues, if Neto’s present form continues over the next several months, interest in him will only grow ahead of the January transfer window.
