Rangers’ performance against Livingston was deemed ‘encouraging’ by a Sky Sports correspondent.

Sky Sports reporter gives ‘encouraging’ Rangers judgement following their performance against Livingston.
Rangers showed “encouraging signs” against Livingston on Wednesday (27 September), according to Mark Benstead.

On Sky Sports’ Football Special on Wednesday (09:48pm), the reporter stated that there was “more about” the Gers as there was “good quality” on exhibit from some individuals in the 4-0 Viaplay Cup victory.

He also stated that Michael Beale required a performance after the Light Blues had not previously been convincing, which he received from his team at Ibrox.

“I think supporters will be encouraged by the scoreline, but also aspects of the showing this evening,” Benstead stated. “They had won their previous games, but they hadn’t been very convincing.

“There was a little bit more about performance tonight, more zip in the first half, and some good quality from individuals.” Sima looked good, Roofe looked good in the first half, and, of course, Yilmaz scored and performed well before being injured. Positive indicators for Michael Beale. He needed a good performance, and he nearly got one.”

This was a strong indication that the Rangers are gradually moving in the right direction, as they won convincingly in what was a significant game for Beale.

Despite winning four games in a row, a setback would have been difficult to overcome because winning the Viaplay trophy should be viewed as a must this season.

After being booed off the pitch against Motherwell the previous weekend, supporters were undoubtedly considerably delighted with what they saw against Livingston.

It was also the Gers’ fourth clean sheet in a succession, as the Light Blues manager attempts to tighten things up at the back.

It’s an opportunity for them to keep going about their business and continue expanding, since the side has a lot more obstacles to conquer in the coming weeks.
