Tranmere Rovers key man have been ruied out for two mouth due to an injury

Tranmere Rovers’ injury and suspension list for the game against Burton Albion
Tranmere Rovers earned a point against Peterborough United in midweek, and now they must back it up when Burton Albion visit Prenton Park this weekend.

Manager Micky Mellon is still missing a lot of key players, and it appears to be a case of getting one back and then losing another!

Corey Blackett-Taylor’s three-match ban has finished, and he played in the Peterborough game on Tuesday, but Calum Woods has been ruled out due to injury, so it’s a frustrating moment for the Rovers manager.

As we begin to prepare for the weekend’s game, we’ll go over who’s unavailable.

Due to an ankle injury received in a pre-season friendly against Walsall, the right-back has missed the first few weeks of the season. He has returned to training in the last few weeks but is yet to play for the first team. He was warming up before of the game at Peterborough, despite not being named to the matchday squad, and could be in line for a recall.

THE CALUM WOODS

To add salt to the wounds of a disappointing result, the versatile defender suffered a calf injury in last weekend’s 3-0 loss against Oxford United. He’d performed admirably since coming on against Gillingham, providing a more natural option at right-back. He’ll be out for 4-6 weeks, but hopefully Caprice will be ready and Tranmere will have a more natural right-back (or wing-back) for this game.

KANE WILSON’S

The teenage full-back, on loan from West Bromwich Albion, suffered a knee ligament damage in training before the game against Rotherham United. He’ll be out for a few more weeks, though the injury was not as severe as first thought.

MR. MARK ELLIS

Ellis had a knee injury near the conclusion of last season and is still out. It will most likely be some time before we see the seasoned defender in a Rovers shirt again.

EVAN GUMBLES

The teenage defender, who had a major knee injury at the close of last season, is unlikely to be fit for selection until the new year at the earliest.

MADDOX, JACOB

Since joining Rovers on loan from Chelsea, the player has yet to make an appearance. The midfielder was included to the matchday squad for the trip to Rotherham a few weeks ago, but has not played since. Maddox has returned to Chelsea for therapy, but the length of his stay is undetermined.

ISMAIL MILLER

The huge striker was having a successful pre-season campaign after recovering from the injury troubles that plagued him after joining Rovers in the second half of last season, before sustaining a hamstring injury against Walsall in the final warm-up match before the new season. The length of time the former Manchester City player will be out is uncertain, but he will not be available this weekend.
