The defender has only played for 45 minutes, but Celts’ defence has struggled.
Nat Phillips may be available for Celtic when Lazio visit the city in the Champions League the following week, according to Brendan Rodgers’ hints.
The center-half joined the Hoops earlier this summer on loan through January as a result of the club’s defensive instability, which led to injuries to new £4.5 million acquisition Maik Nawrocki and Stephen Welsh. Carl Starfelt had already been transferred to Celta Vigo, while Cameron Carter-Vickers had already been eliminated at that point.
Phillips, who relocated from Liverpool to Parkhead with a bothersome issue of his own, made his debut against Dundee before being removed once more. However, Rodgers responded that the Englishman, 26, might play when questioned about Phillips’ likely return the following week when the Roman giants visit Glasgow.
Nat Phillips has returned to the group and is being watched, but we need to confirm that his ankle is okay, the manager remarked.
But that seems a lot better. Hopefully by the weekend (he will be returning). No one else who was hurt while out will return.
CCV is still out as well, but Rodgers provided what might be a timeline for his return.
“Well, Cam is coming back in to re-join the training group, but I would suspect that he won’t be ready until after the international break,” he stated.
