GOOD NEWS:More Aston Villa healing time for a versatile ace…

Due to Villa being cautious about the left-back’s hamstring issue, Alex Moreno could miss up to a fortnight.

After missing nearly four months of play due to an injury that necessitated surgery, Moreno resumed training earlier this month. He was not used as a substitute in Villa’s victories over Crystal Palace and Legia Warsaw.

But manager Unai Emery admitted the 30-year-old was “not feeling 100 percent” and left him off the team for Sunday’s victory at Chelsea.

In order to prevent a more significant setback for Moreno, Villa have opted to reduce his workload over the coming week.

“His injury was very hard,” Emery said. Although he is becoming better all the time, he still doesn’t feel completely at ease playing.

“We made the decision to halt for a few days, possibly a week or two. Hopefully, he is once more on the verge of joining the squad.

At the time of his injury, which occurred during May’s 1-1 draw at Liverpool, Moreno had already established himself as Emery’s first Villa signing after moving there in a £13 million transfer from Real Betis.
