NEWS UPDATE: Tranmere Rovers are devastating

Johnnie Jackson exuded obvious joy after seeing our team defeat Tranmere Rovers 4-1 on Saturday.

With Ali Al-Hamadi scoring a fantastic hat-trick after Armani Little’s maiden goal for the club, the Dons once again showed their utter ruthlessness.

As a result, we have now won two straight games and have moved up into the playoff positions ahead of a number of lengthy away journeys.

A synopsis of the main points and Johnnie’s video interview are provided below.

THE WIN…

It was a terrific victory. Happy to score four goals. I’m thrilled for Ali to score three goals. Moving on, we at times were heartbreaking. If I’m being greedy once again, we could have scored more, but after Tranmere’s impressive victory the previous week, we knew they’d be ready for it. It was incredibly satisfying to cut them open the manner we did and score four.

PUSHING BACK…

Despite not being thrilled with the first 20 minutes, I was thrilled with the response. I believed we were far off course. They had a few sighters that we managed to avoid before they finally scored the goal, which was coming. At that point, we received what was due to us. We needed a kick in the pants, and we got it. At halftime, I mentioned it to the boys, and they responded brilliantly. We needed a stimulant, and we got it, to take the game back and win it.

ARMANI LITTLE ON

He was excellent. We are aware of his motivations. He has an extremely strong working relationship with Jake Reeves there. I’m happy that he scored because I know what he can do and that he can score goals. He’ll be the first to say that it’s taken him too long, especially given his potential. After missing the penalty last week, he has earned it. His performance was excellent all around.

AT THE SQUAD…

It’s a genuine team effort. All over the field, relationships are developing. The fact that we can sign quality players is crucial to note. It’s a true group effort. The 18 players plus the four or five who must sit out are what matter, not the 11 players.

ABOUT ARON SASU

The young person is really talented. At times, his talent is a farce. He is in training every day where I am. I had to give in to him. Josh Neufville started the week off with a minor injury. This is the purpose of your teams. Sas has excelled during training. He deserves the opportunity.

RE: CONNOR EVANS’ DISAPPEARANCE

Last week, he had to leave the game due to a minor hamstring injury. How serious it is is unclear to me. He’ll miss one or two games. He did fantastic last week, so I feel terrible for him.

HOW TO MAINTAIN MOMENTUM

On Monday, we’ll be back on the road for a trip up north before returning on Friday. These are the weeks where we make the most of our team and properly recharge. We must maintain our composure and humility. We don’t believe we have unlocked anything because Harrogate are a strong team. The guys are in a good spot, playing well, and feeling confident. We must make another attempt.
