Midfielder slated for a scan is a blow to Blackpool, while another player is anticipated to return for the match against Derby County.
Matty Virtue and Matthew Pennington both left the 11 that defeated Reading at Bloomfield Road last week.
Critchley gave an explanation for the pair’s absence from the game after the 1-0 victory over the Tykes, with one expected to be fine for the following week’s home game against Derby County.
He explained, “Matty Pennington has had a tight back the past couple of days.
“We hoped he’d be good to go for the game.
“It was more of a precaution because we have a lot of upcoming games.
“We anticipate that he will be well, and we hope to see him on Tuesday.
“Matty Virtue is unique; he tore his hamstring during practise.
“To determine how serious it is, we will need to get that evaluated and scanned.
We played a game during the week because “we need the entire squad, and we need everyone to be fit.”

A new Jordan Rhodes twist appears as the Huddersfield Town player maintains his blistering scoring pace.
On Saturday, the center-forward scored another goal for Blackpool, a loan team, scoring the game’s lone goal as they defeated Barnsley on the road.
According to rumours, striker Jordan Rhodes could be called back to Huddersfield Town in January. The 33-year-old was moved on a season-long loan to League One club Blackpool back in August after falling down the pecking order at Town under Neil Warnock.
With the Tangerines, Rhodes’ career has undoubtedly gotten off to a strong start. On Saturday, he scored the game’s lone goal as they defeated Barnsley 1-0. Five goals have now been scored in five games since moving to Bloomfield Road.
The Terriers allegedly added a “review clause” to the contract, indicating they might potentially stop it early in January, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Frustration at draw with Ipswich reveals development and opportunities for improvement
On his Patreon page, Nixon wrote: “Jordan Rhodes has a review provision in his loan move to Blackpool that takes effect early next year. If Darren Moore wants to, Huddersfield can recall the marksman during the loan break time on January 2.
If Rhodes stays at Blackpool after the New Year, that is still to be determined. Blackpool manager Neil Critchley commented after the team’s third consecutive victory at Oakwell: “We were hard to defeat, which we’ve have to be because when we’ve played away from home, we’ve maybe been simple to play against at times.
“In the second half, we carried a threat on the break, but not enough. Although I believe we can play better than that, we’ll take the clean sheet and three points we’ve earned. Today, the players were incredibly cohesive.
