After Moussa Diaby and Boubacar Kamara had to leave the 6-1 thumping of Brighton & Hove Albion due to injury concerns, Unai Emery gave an update on their conditions.
Diaby and Kamara were instrumental in the historic triumph, therefore it was upsetting to see them suffer injuries and possibly spoil an otherwise wonderful afternoon.
After the game, when asked for an update, Emery responded, “I think he [Diaby] has some pain, but I don’t think it’s going to be relevant for the following matches.
“As well as Kamara. Hopefully not significant [important]. We are hoping, but we need to make sure,” Emery added.
Villa will be counting on both players to recover swiftly because the squad’s depth has recently been tested due to the ever-increasing number of fixtures.
Due to severe knee injuries, Emiliano Buendia, Tyrone Mings, and Alex Moreno are all sidelined for the remainder of the season. Alex Moreno is almost ready to return but isn’t quite ready.
Diego Carlos, who started on the bench against Brighton, is still catching up, while Timothy Iroegbunam has just started back at full training.

Bertrand Traore may be hauled in from Aston Villa cold after Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey injury news for Brighton clash
Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has announced that Leon Bailey will miss Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton, which may require the Spaniard to start Bertrand Traore from scratch.
The fan favourite Jacob Ramsey will have a last-minute fitness test before the match at Villa Park, the Spaniard added during his news conference on Friday, September 29 [via Birmingham Live].
Ramsey returned from injury earlier this month and played in both the 1-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend and the loss at Legia Warsaw, but he missed the match against Everton in the middle of the week due to an injury and is questionable for Saturday.
These two injury developments undoubtedly leave Emery severely lacking in attacking alternatives, particularly when playing against a strong and dangerous Brighton team. As a result, the Spaniard might be forced to make a quick choice regarding forgotten Villa Park player Traore.
Before being called up by Unai Emery in the January transfer window, Traore, 28, spent the first half of last season on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir.
The Burkina Faso international played 18 times for Basaksehir in all competitions, tallying three goals before leaving for the West Midlands, where he made just eight first team appearances last season but scored twice.
Last year, Traore made just one start for Emery, and so far this season, the former Chelsea forward has appeared in just nine minutes of league action, all of which came on the bench against Burnley on August 27.
Last season, the 27-year-old scored two vital goals against Leicester and Nottingham Forest, with the goal against the Foxes helping his team collect three critical points in their successful bid to finish in the European spots.
Additionally, there was a lot of discussion about a potential departure from Villa Park [Birmingham Live, 17 July] due to his anticipated restricted opportunities following the arrivals of Moussa Diaby and Nicolo Zaniolo.
