Nathan Ake, a star for Manchester City, acknowledges he fell short against Wolves.
The Dutchman, who Jamie Carragher described as “almost perfect,” was noticeably outpaced for speed by Pedro Neto in the lead-up to the home team’s opening goal at the Molineux Stadium.

But even before Neto scored his first goal, Ake was having trouble keeping up with his lightning-fast feet and breakneck pace.

Nathan Ake held up his hands and acknowledged that he was not at his best after Manchester City was defeated by Wolves.

They launched numerous counterattacks; we ought to have repelled them. I should have intervened to stop them. On a couple of times, I could have performed far better. Without a doubt, I’ll look at myself before anyone else, he declared.

Nathan Ake continued, “But I think generally, we could have done much better. I think Manchester City as a whole were off the boil against Wolves. Yes, it was [a generally underwhelming performance], but I always look in the mirror and I’m never satisfied with myself. The squad should have performed better as a whole, so that comes first and foremost, but I will surely start with myself.

“In my opinion, there were a few times when I could have performed better. It was certainly a touch fortunate that he still had the ball when I tackled him in the first half, but often I receive the ball in these circumstances.

After his appalling performance against Wolves, Nathan Ake is now focused on moving on, adding, “It’s disappointing. Games like that can occur occasionally; the key is in how you bounce back.
