Paul Hurst looking so devastated as he will be loosing his very important ace till next season with injury

Injuries to newcomers at Grimsby Town are updated by Paul Hurst prior to the match against Sutton United.
The Mariners manager discussed the situation of recent additions Danilo Orsi, Niall Maher, and Otis Khan.

Danilo Orsi, the team’s striker, is back on the pitch and getting closer to making a comeback, according to Grimsby Town, which provided an update on the players who have yet to play for the squad this season due to injury.

After suffering an injury towards the end of the preseason that has kept him out to this point, Orsi was spotted working on the training pitch at Cheapside on Thursday afternoon. The 26-year-old has yet to play in a competitive match for the Mariners since joining in the summer along with fellow newcomers Niall Maher and Otis Khan.

The Grimsby manager gave a brief update on the status of each player’s injuries, emphasising that he and his staff will be “careful” while re-integrating Orsi and other players into the matchday squad in order to avoid further problems.

Hurst stated that “he is getting closer to a return.” “We need to exercise caution since he is ahead of schedule, and even if he is prepared, we need to do so because Danilo is a player who is anxious to play with his teammates.

He has a great mentality, and I applaud him for it because everyone should have that attitude, but they don’t. Some of the guys are different in that you have to cheer them on and reassure them that everything will be alright.

“I believe that Danilo is just eager to start playing because when we ran various tests throughout preseason, he was in the lead, and I knew that was exactly the kind of player we were signing when we did.

“Niall [Maher] is a little bit further behind; Edwin [Essel] is at a comparable level in terms of going back to training because he was working with Danilo. Danilo and Edwin, Niall, then Otis [Khan] would be in that order in terms of preparation.

Niall’s injury has taken a little longer than we initially anticipated, but the most recent scan has helped us understand the problem more clearly. However, because of the scar tissue, he is not yet available to us.
