MIDDLESBROUGH INJURY UPDATE INCLUDING LENIHAN, O’BRIEN, AND DIJKSTEEL PRIOR TO CARDIFF CITY MATCH Middlesbrough are awaiting scan results on Lewis O’Brien’s ankle injury sustained at Watford at the weekend, with Michael Carrick still fearing the worst over the injury.
The Boro head coach remarked, “We’re still waiting on scan results at this time, although it’s not looking too promising,” prior to Tuesday night’s match with Cardiff City. Since we’re awaiting findings either today or tomorrow, I can’t really say with certainty when, but it won’t be too long.
Middlesbrough’s victory was costly, and Michael Carrick feared the worst for Lewis O’Brien.
O’Brien will almost probably miss the Cardiff game at the Riverside, but vice captain Darragh Lenihan’s return could help Boro. Due to illness, the Ireland international missed Saturday’s victory at Watford. Paddy McNair filled the void in the defence.
Over the weekend, Darragh was unwell, according to Carrick. We are now evaluating where he is. We’ll have to wait and see whether he feels a little bit better and is healthy enough to participate again.
Nothing really noteworthy [affecting any other players] exists. We’ll have to look at it to see who is healthy and prepared to travel since there are a few knocks, aches, bumps, and bruises as well as a few youngsters who have played a lot of football recently.
