INJURY UPDATE: Swindon Town key player have been ruied out for injury

Within the past week, both have experienced shoulder dislocations.

Prior to Tuesday’s match against Yeovil at SN1 (7:45pm Kickoff), Swindon Town manager Phil Brown provided an update on both Luke Norris and Kellan Gordon.

On Easter Monday, during the 1-1 draw with Crawley, striker Luke Norris injured his shoulder for the third time this year.

And in yet another unfortunate turn of events, Kellan Gordon suffered the same injury on Saturday against Carlisle United.

At his earlier pre-game press conference, Brown acknowledged to the local media that it is difficult to predict when the pair will return.

Luke Norris will undergo surgery, but we won’t schedule him until April 30. As a result, there is now some downtime, he added.

It begs the issue of whether he will be able to finish the season if it recovers adequately between now and the end of April.

Remembering that there will be one game plus three in the Play-Offs following that, it is somewhat of a race against time.

“There is a chance that Luke won’t undergo surgery until the end of April if he feels like he can participate in a game and in training before April 30.

“Everything depends on Luke Norris’ recovery.

“Kellan Gordon has returned to Derby, and now his parent club is in charge of us.

The first time I spoke with his mother was on Saturday. They are a great family, and our thoughts are with Kellan.

“I’m hoping for a quick recovery.

“We’re in Derby County’s hands, so we’ll wait for more information from the medical department. We’re not sure if it needs an operation or not.”

And Brown continued by saying that, in advance of tomorrow’s crucial match against The Glovers, he has no additional injury concerns.

Fortunately, no one was hurt during the game on Saturday, he continued.

The only negative aspect of Saturday was that we lost the game, therefore there were more mental than physical wounds.
