SAD NEWS: Wolves have a hart brek injury below……

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ lineup and injury news ahead of their Premier League match against Liverpool at home.

Wolves return to Premier League action against Liverpool on Saturday (12.30pm), but what options does Gary O’Neil have? At his Friday press conference, the manager was asked about injury updates and was able to provide some good news.

Tommy Doyle: O’Neil has stated that Tommy Doyle has recovered from a minor knee injury and will play against Liverpool. Doyle was ruled out of the 3-2 defeat at Crystal Palace on September 3, only two days after signing a season-long loan from Manchester City with a view to a £4.3m permanent move.

It’s unclear whether Doyle will start because he’ll be up against Mario Lemina and Joe Gomes in centre midfield, but a spot on the bench seems plausible.

Joe Hodge: At this point, he is the only player who has been ruled out due to injury, however this is not thought to be a long-term concern. The Republic of Ireland under-21 skipper suffered a hamstring injury in the Carabao Cup triumph against Blackpool at home a fortnight ago, but he might be back in action in around a week.

Sasa Kalajdzic: The striker is working his way back to full match fitness after missing a year due to an ACL injury. Kalajdzic returned to the field after recovering from his injury in pre-season and has appeared as a substitute in Premier League games this season, as well as starting in the Carabao Cup triumph over Blackpool.

O’Neil revealed that the striker was able to make more progress during the international break. He took part in a friendly training ground, which was utilised by O’Neil to work with players who had not been called up for international action.

Are there any other worries in the camp? On that front, there is good news. “The lads are in a good spot,” O’Neil added. Hodgey is still missing, but the rest of the group is doing well. Of course, a couple joined us late, having returned from international service. Today is the first day of training for a couple, but we are in good shape in terms of injuries.
