SO SAD: Tom Cannon was having a mind distubed about a vasertiles injury…

Former Preston North End striker Tom Cannon will be out for a while after Leicester City said he had signed him with an injury.

PNE spent the most of the summer attempting to re-sign Tom Cannon after a successful loan stint earlier this year.

When Cannon was spotted at Deepdale during the 2-0 pre-season friendly win against Aberdeen, North End fans were overjoyed.

The saga dragged on, with PNE eventually missing out when Leicester City pounced with a deal.

Everton agreed to a fee of roughly £7.5 million, allowing Cannon to transfer to the King Power Stadium on deadline day.

Leicester City have confirmed Tom Cannon’s blow.
Cannon has yet to make his debut with the Foxes, and it is uncertain when he will be able to do so.

Because Leicester manager Enzo Maresca has now confirmed to BBC Sport that Cannon has a stress fracture in his back.

The issue came out during his medical, and Leicester were pleased to proceed with the transfer since they believed Cannon would be alright in the long run.

However, there is no timetable for Cannon’s comeback, and Leicester must be patient with him.

Cannon hasn’t even trained with Leicester yet, according to Maresca, with the Foxes preferring to focus on the long term rather than the short term.

Cannon was fantastic on loan with North End in the second half of last season, and we all wanted him back.

On the From The Finney podcast, Peter Ridsdale confirmed that PNE did make a permanent offer for Cannon, which Everton accepted before Leicester won the race.

North End then loaned out Basel winger Liam Millar and signed Montenegro striker Milutin Osmajic in a club-record deal.

Both players made an early impact against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, assisting PNE to a sixth consecutive Championship victory.

While PNE may have seen the long-term potential in Cannon, it’s difficult to argue against Millar and Osmajic making an immediate effect.

There is also concern that Cannon’s injury will cause long-term problems, with PNE fans perhaps happy that a large amount was not paid for a player who will be out for a while.
