Dr. Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has joined us as an exclusive columnist. He’ll be sharing his thoughts on Aston Villa’s injury situation every week…
According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey is unlikely to return to training for the next five weeks due to an injury setback.
According to the injury expert, his initial problem was a fractured metatarsal, but this one does not look to be as critical.
That would have taken two or three months, but there’s a high chance he’ll be back within the next six weeks.
Dr. Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, told Villa News about his setback: “The initial injury was a broken or fractured metatarsal, but this one sounds like the fracture isn’t as severe.”
“That could also mean it’s not as serious as a fracture, or that it’s in a different specific location within the metatarsal, which shortens the timeline.”
“If this was not a contact-based reinjury, the Villa medical staff will be very methodical with his return and return to action.”
“Emery and the rest of the coaches will probably see him back in training in around five weeks or so.”
Ramsey has relapsed on his path to full health, which will be a significant blow to Unai Emery.
He appeared in 35 Premier League games last season, contributing six goals and seven assists in England’s top level.
The 22-year-old was among the first names on the team sheet, and it’s unclear where he’ll play after he’s recovered from his injury.
There are a number of new players at the club, and the Englishman will have competition for positions in the coming weeks.
In other Aston Villa news, a senior first-team player recently faced a three-month absence due to a leg break and artery damage.
