Kristiansen’s injury forces Motta to reconsider his international trip.

Bologna have been in excellent defensive form in recent weeks, with their 3-0 win over Empoli marking their fourth consecutive clean sheet after three stalemates. Victor Kristiansen has been one of their defensive stars, but Thiago Motta will be without his wingback as they prepare to host Inter on Saturday.

Kristiansen has been out for three weeks due to a lesion in his left rectus femoris, the muscular section of his thigh. He apparently received the knock last time out at the Dall’Ara. According to TuttoBolognaweb, this will require Motta to rethink his defensive strategy in light of what could be their hardest test of the season thus far.

Despite their first season setback to Sassuolo, Inter have been in brilliant form in their seven matches since the start of the season, scoring 19 goals and conceding only three.

Our Opinion on Bologna’s Backline Problems
Kristiansen’s absence will be difficult to manage without Stefan Posch and Jhon Lucumi in defence. Dealing with Marcus Thuram or Lautaro Martinez will not be easy for the Bolognese defence.
