The 49ers might be forced to play the NFC championship without the second running back in their one-two punch. Elijah Mitchell, a running back, is officially labelled as questionable for the game on Sunday due to a groyne injury he sustained against Dallas in the divisional round.
On Monday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Mitchell’s condition was day-to-day and showed some optimism that he would be available, along with other injured players. The second-year running back, though, was given a doubtful designation on the injury report because he missed every practise this week.
Despite the fact that Mitchell was listed as being absent from Friday’s practise, Shanahan claimed that Mitchell did complete some work.
“He was there, I believe before practise and alone. I believe so,” stated Shanahan.
Here is the complete Sunday injury report:
For the NFC championship, Garoppolo might have come back as a backup. No, he won’t.
After missing the previous three games, Thomas’ questionable designation is an improvement for him. He had limitations all week throughout practise.
