Paul Momirovski: Sydney Roosters centre is signed by Leeds Rhinos for 2024

Leeds Rhinos have agreed to a two-year contract with Sydney Roosters to acquire centre Paul Momirovski for the 2024 Super League seas

on.

The 27-year-old, who came up through the Roosters systems after being signed as a junior from South Sydney, made his debut there in 2018 and played there twice.

Momirovski afterwards joined Wests Tigers, where he went on to win the 2021 NRL Grand Final in Penrith.

Momirovski remarked, “I believed that would be a fantastic fit for me.

“I still believe that I have a lot to learn, and I will gain from working with the coaches and players at Leeds. I have had the honour of playing for some outstanding NRL teams, and I am a firm believer in constantly seeking ways to advance.

Momirovski, who was born in Sydney, has scored 26 tries in 60 NRL first-grade contests.

Wests Tigers intend to target a barnstorming Origin centre

NSW Origin rookie Bradman Best has been linked to the Wests Tigers’ backline, which would be a huge help in their 2024 effort to escape their third straight wooden spoon.

The Tigers are apparently interested in both Best and Moses Suli from the St. George Illawarra Dragons, though nothing is official just yet.

According to News Corp, if the Newcastle Knights’ star centre isn’t signed before the transfer window opens on November 1st, he may fetch roughly $800,000 on the free market.

Starford To’a, Brent Naden, and Asu Kepaoa are battling for positions at centre for the Tigers ahead of Josh Feledy and Triston Reilly, who lack experience. Best, however, would start the game as a walk-up.

Given that he recently extended his contract through 2026, To’a in particular would be intently monitoring any prospective change. It’s interesting to note that To’a transferred from the Knights to the Tigers.

After making his Newcastle debut in the middle stages of 2019, Best experienced injury-plagued seasons in 2020–2022, but he had a breakout year in 2023. In Game Three of the NSW State of Origin series, Best made a surprise debut, scoring two tries in a decisive victory.
