Terry McLaurin, a wide receiver for the Washington Commanders, may miss Week 1 of the regular season due to an injury to his right big toe sustained in Monday’s preseason Week 2 matchup against the Ravens.
According to video evidence, McLaurin most likely sustained a little turf toe injury when Baltimore defender Kristian Welch landed on him.
Wide receivers who are skilled route runners like McLaurin sometimes struggle to play through turf toe problems. Early in the season, the Pro Football Docs had severe concerns about his availability and effectiveness.
His Week 1 SIC score is currently 61, which indicates that he will be limited if he plays on September 10 against the Arizona Cardinals.
It’s also not out of the question that he begins the season on injured reserve and missing the first four games, but that’s the worst-case scenario.
With the new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, McLaurin was an intriguing fantasy option going into this season. However, fantasy players considering drafting him at his ADP of should be wary given the timing of this injury.
