INJURY UPDATE: Crystal Palace midfielder out for six weeks with hamstring injury…

Eberechi Eze, a midfielder for Crystal Palace, will miss six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury against Manchester United.

Eze was replaced moments before the final whistle as Palace defeated United 1-0 on Saturday at Old Trafford.

Michael Olise, a 21-year-old winger for Palace, will also be out for a while with a recurrent hamstring injury.

Before being substituted over the weekend, Eze had played every minute of the new Premier League season.

Following matches against Newcastle and Tottenham at the end of October after the international break, Roy Hodgson’s Palace will play Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

Gareth Southgate will not have Eze available when he names his squad on Thursday. Eze earned his first England cap against Malta in June and his second as a substitute against Scotland last month.

On October 13, England plays a friendly against Australia. Four days later, England plays Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifying match at Wembley Stadium.

Roy Hodgson acknowledges that Crystal Palace is experiencing a “serious injury crisis.”

Roy Hodgson, the manager of Crystal Palace, acknowledges that his team is experiencing a “serious injury crisis” with midfielder Eberechi Eze the latest player to be expected to miss a significant amount of time.
After playing for England last month, Eze’s hamstring injury prevented him from being included in Gareth Southgate’s newest squad. The 25-year-old joined the growing list of Palace players who will not be available for Saturday’s home game against Nottingham Forest.

Despite the most recent setback, Hodgson made it clear he had no intention of pandering to sympathy, instead emphasizing the wider picture to reassure worried supporters.

According to Hodgson, there is no use in trying to find sympathy for injuries in the world of football. Every team experiences it.

We are now experiencing a significant injury issue, but we must learn to deal with it, accept the situation, and look forward to the day these guys return and our team is larger than before.

“OK, it won’t happen in the next week or two, but we also need to remember that the season doesn’t end until May.”

After seven games, Palace sits ninth in the Premier League standings. They are coming off a 1-0 triumph over Manchester United last time out, with defender Joachim Andersen scoring the game-winning goal.
