JUST IN: Once the January transfer window opens, Aston Villa is expected to execute a £26 million transfer.

BirminghamLive has the most recent Aston Villa transfer news, with the club once more being linked to a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Once the January transfer market opens, Aston Villa is expected to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. In the summer, when Unai Emery was in charge of the Lions, Villa reportedly expressed interest in signing Ceballos. At the same time, the Lions signed Moussa Diaby, Pau Torres, Youri Tielemans, Clement Lenglet, and Nicolo Zaniolo to fill in for injured Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings.

Villa could add to their roster again in the upcoming winter transfer window as they juggle Premier League games with a Europa Conference League campaign they hope to advance far into. According to rumours coming out of Spain, Ceballos is still on Emery’s wishlist. Emery was expected to make a move for his Los Blancos teammate because he missed out on Marco Asensio, who signed with PSG.

Ceballos, a former Arsenal loanee, is said to be very keen in returning to England, according to Fichajes, and would cost Villa 30 million Euros, or £26 million, if he were to become available for a move in January. Ceballos, a Spaniard, served two consecutive loan periods at the Emirates Stadium between 2019 and 2021. During that time, he made 77 appearances across all competitions and scored two goals. Ceballos had previously joined Madrid from Real Betis for £15 million in 2017.

Villa Park’s reconstruction date for use as a Euro 2028 venue has been set by Aston Villa.

Ceballos has so far made four appearances for Real this season across all competitions. He had to deal with a hamstring injury earlier in the year, but he made a full recovery at the end of September and has since made four substitute appearances, including at Napoli in their recent Champions League victory.

There are many alternatives in the middle for Real, of course. In addition to the great duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, Carlo Ancelotti also has access to Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, and Eduardo Camavinga. Jude Bellingham, who came in the summer, has been a revelation.

After failing to sign Asensio in the summer, Villa turned to free agent Tielemans, who joined the likes of John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara, Douglas Luiz, Jacob Ramsey, and Leander Dendoncker as possibilities in the midfield. Additionally, Morgan Sanson is on loan to Nice for Villa and is scheduled to return in the summer of 2019.
