JUST IN: Former Hull KR coach lands new NRL gig after New Zealand Warriors exit…

Morgan stays in the NRL but relocates to a different nation.

Justin Morgan, a former head coach of Hull KR, will work as Todd Payten’s assistant coach with the North Queensland Cowboys in 2024. Morgan earned his stripes at Toulouse Olympique before taking the helm of Hull KR from 2005 until 2011. During that time, he oversaw 178 games.

His most famous accomplishment involved getting the Robins back into Super League and reviving Craven Park, a location he still treasures. Morgan has held assistant coaching positions with a number of NRL teams since leaving the Robins, including the Canberra Raiders, Melbourne Storm, and most recently, the New Zealand Warriors. The coaching staff of the North Queensland Cowboys would greatly benefit from his knowledge and insights because he has previously worked with the national squad of New Zealand.

We’re happy to be able to secure an assistant coach with Justin’s experience for 2024, said Cowboys Head of Football Michael Luck. Justin, one of the most highly respected assistant coaches in the NRL, joins us after excelling with the Warriors this season.
