After a horrific fall during the process of scoring the second of two outstanding tries, Broncos flyer Xavier Coates had to travel to the hospital for neck scans but was later ruled out with no major injuries.
With nine minutes remaining in the first half, Anthony Milford perfectly timed a wonderful floating pass for his winger to dive over in the corner, setting Coates up for a second try assist.

Coates had to be removed from the field for a head injury assessment, though, after landing awkwardly.
The Queensland flyer was declared free of any major injuries, according to a medical report released by the Broncos on Coates’ condition.
Broncos performance director Andrew Croll stated, “Xavier still has a sore neck, but his scan was clear and he has improved today.”
John Asiata also had a clear scan, but he still has some neck pain.
“Player welfare will be paramount in any decision made, and both Xavier and John will be assessed in the coming days to determine whether they will be available to play.”

The Broncos were dealt a severe blow as Coates and Milford combined to put the home team ahead 16-0 in the first half.
Coates scored his first try of the game in the eighteenth minute after Milford’s excellent cross-field chip punt, which he grabbed on full and dove over.
