INJURY UPDATE: NRL Casualty Ward: Warriors star’s incredible comeback; Roosters playmaker back in the hospital

The Warriors are hoping Addin Fonua-Blake, who sustained a knee injury in Round 14 against the Melbourne Storm, can make a comeback, according to coach Nathan Brown.

After sustaining the injury in April, Fonua-Blake was initially supposed to be out for up to four months, but he is expected to be back sooner than expected.

Brown stated, “He is tracking along pretty good,” on Vossy’s Breakfast on 1170 SEN.

Yesterday was his first fair team session. We’re really hoping he’ll play the week following the bye. Right now, it is the strategy.

The Warriors will benefit greatly from Fonua-Blake’s comeback as they compete for a top-eight spot.

Drew Hutchinson of the Sydney Roosters is reportedly back in the hospital following a two-week hospital stay for a broken ribcage and a lung puncture.

The playmaker has been brought back due to difficulties stemming from his collapsed lung, as reported by Nine News on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, in round nine, Hutchinson was sickened after Dylan Brown slid into him with his knees.

A YOUNG GUN IS RULED OUT FOR SIX WEEKS, CAWBOYS’ INJURY BLOW

With center Connelly Lemuelu slated to miss six weeks following a thumb fracture sustained during North Queensland’s victory over Newcastle on Thursday, the Cowboys have suffered a blow.

The 22-year-old sustained the injury in the first half, and the club revealed on Monday that he will have surgery on Tuesday.

Lemuele, who has put a lot of effort into securing a regular berth in Todd Payten’s 17, has suffered a harsh setback.

Additionally, it strains the backline resources of North Queensland, since Ben Hampton, Justin O’Neill, and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow are already out due to injury. The Cowboys, however, are hoping to see Tabuai-Fidow return this weekend; Payten stated he was “crossing his fingers” that the 19-year-old will be right to go for Round 12.
