JUST IN: While serving for his country, the 26-year-old Nottingham Forest player developed a problem…

Gonzalo Montiel, a defender for Nottingham Forest, made an unusual start for Argentina yesterday night, but things didn’t go as planned. The defender, who has recently struggled with playing time, had only been out for thirty minutes when an injury occurred.

Boss Lionel Scaloni gave the right back the opportunity to start the match. He had a relatively little role in Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Peru in his first game for the team since March.

Both Forest and Montiel were disappointed by the way his night ended. The nature of the injury is unknown, but the Reds will evaluate him after his international manager pulled him off the field after just 30 minutes.

Montiel sustains injuries while on overseas duty
Although Forest is reasonably well-stocked in the right-back position, this is not good news. However, the 26-year-old had a strong second half against Crystal Palace and came close to scoring in the 0-0 draw.

He was hoping to play against Luton yesterday night and then return to Forest with more experience under his belt. After last night, he will now require an evaluation to see whether he can go on an excursion this weekend.

TyC Sports said the following about Forest defender Montiel’s performance: “He played the first half hour until he was injured.” Accurate in scoring and unwavering in attacking.

Forest is hoping Montiel’s injury is not too bad.
The Reds are going to start a string of challenging games. Steve Cooper will be hoping that Montiel, who signed with Forest in the summer from Sevilla, can bounce back from this and it turns out to be nothing more than a little annoyance.

For Montiel, this was an incredibly frustrating night. The Forest player would have like to show off his skills to Argentina once again, but the evening ended in frustration.

In both the World Cup and Europa League finals, Montiel converted the game-winning penalty. Forest will now have to wait anxiously to find out how long he is expected to be absent, but he is a guy for the big occasion.
