In the seventh minute, they would take the lead thanks to a beautiful grubber kick from Shaun Johnson that caught the Dogs defense off guard. Josh Curran was able to chase it down and score the try when there was nobody else nearby.
Fox League commentator Dan Ginnane declared, “They’ve caught the Doggies out.”
Dan Ginnane observed that the squad from New Zealand persisted in “playing at their own speed” during the first half.
Throughout the opening forty minutes, the Bulldogs had a few attacking opportunities, but they were wasted on the Warriors, who took full advantage of them.
The second time they crossed was in the twenty-fiveth minute, when Addin Fonua-Blake easily crossed after spotting a clever short pass from Dylan Walker.
With his fifth try of the year, Fonua-Blake surpassed everyone else on the team’s try-scoring tally.
During the Warriors’ third attempt, Johnson left his mark by launching a precise bomb that was caught by winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.
Shaun Johnson is too excellent, Dan Ginnane declared.
What an idea. Johnson was an expert at what he did. It’s entertaining to see him,” Steve Roach continued.
