Morrie Eisenberg has been appointed as Leeds United’s new chief operating officer at Elland Road. Among his responsibilities will be managing stadium renovations.
Leeds United’s new chief operating officer has given the redevelopment plans for Elland Road more impetus. Chief of 49ers Enterprises Morrie Eisenberg, who was drafted in from the US, will work full-time at Elland Road while relocating to the UK with his family.
Eisenberg has held numerous high-level positions at companies located across the Atlantic. Among his past positions, those with the electric car manufacturer Tesla, the job platform LinkedIn, and the San Francisco 49ers were the most notable.
Following the departure of executive director Paul Bell, United’s new COO was instrumental in the construction and opening of Levi’s Stadium, home of the 49ers. Eisenberg is anticipated to take the lead on the first part of the next phase of Elland Road.
“Leeds United is pleased to announce Morrie Eisenberg will be joining the club as chief operating officer,” a statement from the team stated. In order to take charge of the club’s commercial revenue and business operations, including management of the fan experience and our commercial partnerships, Morrie will be relocating to Leeds permanently with his family.
In addition, he will oversee longer-term strategic projects, such as the preliminary planning stages of our stadium renovation projects. Morrie has over 20 years of senior commercial leadership experience. He has worked for Tesla and the San Francisco 49ers, where he oversaw business operations when Levi’s Stadium first opened.
“We are thrilled to welcome Morrie to the team,” said Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear. His energy, leadership, and experience will be invaluable in helping us shape and carry out our plans to help our fantastic club reach its enormous potential on and off the field.
