Nathan Ferguson has sustained yet another injury, according to Roy Hodgson. However, the Crystal Palace manager was unsure of the extent of the defender’s setback.
Ferguson participated in every minute of Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over Monaco at Sutton United for Darren Powell’s U21 team.
After joining from West Brom in July 2020, the 23-year-old defender has only played eight minutes of senior football for Crystal Palace.
He extended his contract by one year in the summer, but since the end of the previous campaign, he has been recovering from a hamstring injury with the U21 team.
Hodgson, who watched the Premier League International Cup victory over Monaco, said, “I was really pleased to see him play.”
“He had good play. However, I’ve learned today that he sustained an injury during the game.
“At this point, I am unsure of the injury’s severity; all I can hope is that it won’t be another serious one for him.
“Seeing him again and enjoying his performance was great.”
Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze will not be present for tomorrow’s Premier League match, as our paper reported earlier today.
